Memorial Day is just DAYS away, and I always LOVE any chance to bust out my patriotic attire! This Memorial Day our family plans to get togegher and barbecue, swim, and just spend time together. My family is super southern, and my fiancé comes from a big Greek family… cue the windex jokes now…Can you picture the chaos?!
I know so many of you are doing something similar, wether it be hitting the road, hosting a BBQ at home , or just hanging with friends and family. For that reason, I pulled together a few outfits that are fit for any occasion, and had a little fun doing it! Please note, all outfits are cute AND affordable. Each piece was $60.00 or less!
Option 1: The girl thats hittin’ the road
I love a good road trip, and so many of my friends are getting out of town for the long weekend. I found this AWESOME red and white striped jumpsuit at Forever 21, and not only is it super cute, but super AFFORDABLE! Its super light and airy, which is great for the Florida heat. It also has the fun slit details up each leg which makes it feel more like shorts. You can dress it up with heels like I did here, or you can sport flat sandals for something more chill. This one was a little long for flats, so I opted for heels. It’s a size Large which runs TTS.
Jumpsuit: Forever 21 Shoes: Steve Madden I bought mine at Nordstrom, but looks like they’re out of nude. They have other pretty colors available, which are ON SALE for their half yearly sale right now! Flip flops would be great and more chill, but my jumpsuit was a little long for flats.
Option 2: The Memorial Day BBQ
Steven, my fiancé, and I always love to BBQ at home. I say that as if I actually run the grill and cook myself, but really we just love the relaxed atmosphere and I always sit and chat with him while he grills and we talk about our days. This year, we’re having a Memorial BBQ with the whole crew, and I know SO many of you are doing the same with your friends and family. For the BBQ, I paired these white high waisted Top shop mom shorts (seriously, they’re called the “Mom shorts”) with this pretty red, ruffled, off the shoulders Topshop body suit. Clearly, Im a fan of the brand lol. I also happen to LOVE a good body suit. The wedges are Ugg and Ive had them for a few years, but I linked a similar pair I adore for you below. Bodysuit is size large and runs TTS. Shorts are size 8 and run small. Size up, I usually wear a 6 or 27/28.
Bodysuit: Topshop, sold out but here is one similar in style and price Shorts: Topshop: Wedges: Ugg (old) but here are some similar.
Option 3: Dressed up for an evening outing:
With a few extra days off from my 9-5, Steven and I like to get out and dress up for date nights since we don’t have to rush home and prep for work the next day. This outfit is perfect for date night or a night on the town.I grabbed this wide legged jumpsuit from a local boutique in St. Petersburg called the “The Shop.” If you’re in the area, you have to check it out. I’ve been raiding their racks for years and they have great, original pieces at affordable prices, and the girls that work their are SOOO fabulous and helpful. I’ve been dying for any excuse to wear this one, and the color combo is perfect for Memorial weekend. Between the wide legs, the cut outs on the side, and the off the shoulder ruffled sleeves, its comfortable, unique, and sassy. My kind of combo! Size large, but I felt this one should be a little roomy. May have been able to swing the Medium for future reference.
Jumpsuit: A. Calin Los Angelos (old) Here is one similar I’m currently stalking.
So what do you think, are you guys option 1,2 or 3? Theres plenty of days this weekend to squeeze them ALL in! What are everyones plans for the weekend? I love to hear from you! Leave me your comments, Ill always get back with you and I love getting to know you!
Have a happy and safe weekend with your loved ones, and let’s remember what Memorial Day is really all about!
